Snuggled in the Thompson valley and located at the junction of Highway 1 (the Trans-Canada Highway) and Highway 5 (the Coquihalla), Kamloops is both a destination on its own and the gateway to the northern communities of Quesnel and Prince George. The Sun Peaks ski resort just to the east draws an increasinly large number of visitors to Kamloops every year while Cache Creek to the west represents the gateway to the famous Highway 1 trip through the Fraser Canyon.
